Morning Pages
Morning Pages
This shawl was inspired by the concept of Morning Pages by Julia Cameron (in The Artists Way). I never quite got the hang of rising at dawn to complete my journaling, but I did design and knit a shawl in which to do it - so I’ll call that a win.
The Morning Pages shawl is a generous, over-the-shoulder shawl in a semi-circle shape. It is knit in DK/worsted weight yarn for added heft and to keep you warm on chilly mornings.
Needles: 5mm circular needle. Minimum 80cm (32") cable - ideally 100cm (40") (US size 9).
Yarn: 3 x 100g The Fibre Company Cumbria (worsted), 218 m/238 yds per 100g.
MC: 2 x 100g colourway Scafell Pike (grey).
CC: 1 x 100 g colourway Buttermere (yellow).
Notions: Tapestry needle for weaving in ends, stitch markers, scissors.
Gauge: 18 stitches in 10cm/4" in stocking stitch, blocked.
Size after blocking: Shawl forms a generous semi-circle with depth 47cm (18.5") at deepest point, approx wingspan 152cm (60")
